3rd place in Amsterdam.
Good day
Played the Amsterdam Open yesterday in Club 8. My grandpa and grandma came to watch, which was good fun. They enjoyed it so much that they stayed for 3 rounds!
Won my first 2 matches 8-4 and 8-0, which put me against my last USA trip travel companion Huidji See. Hooch played lights out in the first 6 games and after my first rack break and run he went up 5-1 including 2 kick inns after safe's from me. Then I received a change and ran 4 racks to tie the score 5-5. Went up 6-5 also but broke and left the 2-9 dead infront of the corner and the 1 right there so 6-6.
It went down to the wire 7-7 and in the end I had to come with 2 long tough shots and made em both for the 8-7 win
Then vs Danny Tervoort 8-1, which put me in the semi's vs youngster Etienne Heckelman. Lot of trouble with my eyes in there also, burning like crazy. Need to get that stuff again that people with hayfever use. It puts a little protective layer over your eyes to stop the burning.
Brutal match, for some reason the tables there are very sensative to humidity and the rails are not all the same speed. Hard to adjust. Etienne fluked in a couple of balls in the first games and I jumped in a long 2ball but scratched of the 9 nine and another rail... 1-3 down. Made it 4-4 but played a poor 5ball and scratched. Never got comfortable with the table. Etienne played solid from there and broke and ran the last rack on 4-7 to win 4-8. Nick won the finals 8-5.
Gonna play a lot this week, wanna get in high gear mode, cause not playing consistant enough. Play great for like 6 games and then miss 3 balls. Have to play some more to get everything top tuned. Playing Huidji and Sanne Krom on Tuesday so a good 8 hours there. Playing Bundesliga this weekend for Oberhausen
