4-5,3-5 loss to Appleton

Just done with the semi-final of the Challenge vs Darren Appleton. Very close first set. I went up 2-0 but Darren fired back to 2-3. We went 4-4 when I had the break but no shot on a long 2ball. I didn't want to roll a long safety cause it rolled of on Darren in the beginning of the set by a ball. I went for the long bank with a safety in mind. Double hit the ball though and sold out of 4 rails, 4-5.

Second set much of the same, didn't get anything after the break and Darren pulled ahead 1-3 playing solid pool. Then he made his first error by hooking himself and I made it 2-3 and 3-3 after his dry break. Once again no shot after the break, very long tactical battle which went his way by a quarter of an inch 3-4.

Another tactical battle where I fouled a close jump with 5 seconds left and gave him a 1-9 combo.... Tough action with the 30 seconds clock. In this event you have to play perfect for two sets each match or depend on a little luck. Sometimes it comes, other times not.

Ready to go home,, fly tomorrow so landing on Thursday morning. Amsterdam Open on Sunday so the action keeps going.

Yo Nelis, jammer van de semi vs Darren maar ja zoals je al zei je moet echt 2 sets perfect spelen om daar doorheen te komen en dat is erg zwaar!
Have a good flight home buddy and hope to see ya soon ;-)
