Action in Q-masters
Same as last year, after I got knocked out, I made a visit to the poolroom "Q-masters", owned by US open promotor Barry Behrman.
It's where all the action is every night of the week during the Open. Chris Bartrum was playing Alcano races for $3000. Besides that everybody was watching but no action. I negotiated a game with Tony Chohan and we decided on a race to 21 10ball for $2500, me giving him the 8ball and the last 2. Betting my own money so good action.
Jumped ahead 6-1 but Tony fought back with a very effective medium speed cutbreak, making the 1 in the side a lot. He pulled ahead 8-9, but I regained control and made it 16-12. I made some mistakes from there, cause it got real busy in the room and the tables got very bouncy. We went 19-18 when Tony made 5 balls on the break. He missed a tricky 6ball and I got to the hill first.
Tony won the next one to make it 19-20 though! He broke dry and I ran a very tough last game for a 21-19.
3 hours sleep and straight to the airport towards Hartfortd for the Challenge of Champs.
Just arrived in the awesome Mohegan Sun hotel, so staying here for a couple of days now
