Route de Legendes!
Hola,
Quick story about something related to pool but is not pool
It's always nice to set some fysical goals as a pro and this summer I got infected by the "Tour de France". I've been biking in the summer months for the last 2 years now but I thought it would be really cool to do 1 or a couple of the big climbs in the Alps
I used to be a member of a cycling club when I was a youngster 9-12. Never liked it back then, always been a nice weather biker
Recently, in September I bought a 2nd hand "Cube" race bike and went on a few small trips. The weather is getting worse now but I thought it would be super to do one trip in the Belgium "Ardennes". There's all kind of routes there with signs, varying from 80-150km. I like to climb so choose the "route de Legendes" 100km with a lot of small climbs.
The weather would only be good this Friday so Kat and me left Thursday night to get an early start. Kat followed me most of the way with the car, it sure was worth it! Little chilly all day but great view and the climbs were worth it. One climb was around 3km with a maximum of 13% incline, brutal
After 70km, you get back to the city where you start, but have the option to do the full trip. I thought, let's go for it. I turned the corner and received a climb of 4km with 8% pfew!
The plan was to also bike tomorrow but the weather's gonna be bad and my legs were done. Gonna wait till spring now. The goal for next year is to do l'Alpe D'Huez and if the condition allows it, it would be great to try a monster climb "Mont Ventoux"
Grand Prix 10ball this Sunday in Amsterdam
